Creativity Schooling

Creativity Schooling

Africa is a continent that has a mystical draw on most everyone, yet at the same time is also a continent
that is suffering from poverty, unemployment, disease, as well as cultural and tribal disputes
with large numbers of orphans and street children as a direct result.

2004

Since 2004 Covenant Ministries through the
Kidsworld Street Kids Centres, has been
actively involved in caring, feeding, clothing
and schooling street children in Africa.
2014

Our primary goal however is to not only meet these children’s basic needs,
but to also be pro-actively involved in giving them
– a real HOPE and a real FUTURE -

How will we do that?

… by helping them discover their uniqueness and creative abilities,
… by inspiring them to develop their very own special abilities,
that are waiting to be released!

How is that possible?

By introducing a new way of thinking and approach to education!

Education has been based on collecting and memorizing information, with the prime objective of preparing children to know enough to be able to get employment.
Of course knowledge is important, yet without application, resourcefulness and personal input, precious time and abilities are being wasted in the lives of so many children.
We are therefore looking at bringing creativity and the application of information into schooling, so as to prepare children not to be looking for employment, … but to create employment!
Giving them – a real HOPE and a real FUTURE -

Container Conversion

Container Conversion

With the New Year and the start of the Creative Awareness Workshops and Training getting ever closer,
we are concentrating on the preparation of the Offices, Computer Workshop and the remodelling of
the Container, which will be used for workshops, Computer and skills training, as well as storage.

2004
The container did not arrive quite as planned
but we soon got it up straight again & placed
  next to its final position.

2004

Because of the need for adequate workshops space
it was decided to double the width of the container
and the foundation was then laid accordingly.

With the container safely placed on its new concrete

In the mean time …

Following our initial introductory workshops during September, which were very well attended by quite a
number of school directors, principals and head teachers, we have registered more than 15 primary as
as well as secondary schools, representing over 3000 children. With our envisaged yearly number
of maximum 20 schools, we are about to reach our target for 2018.

Organic Farming

One of Covenant Ministries / Kidsworld’s Community projects is training in sustainable Organic farming as well as assisting with the drilling for water to ensure that the project is successful.

2014 2014 2004

After training in Kitale, Boaz returned to Asembo and immediately started preparing the soil for planting.
In the meantime the well was being drilled and the necessary piping laid.
Everyone is looking forward in anticipation to the first harvest …

Hearns Kidsworld – New Training Centre.

With the new building complete, Hearns Kidsworld Centre was now ready to take a big step forward.
To be able to increase the skills training centre to accommodate 16 girls at a time, as well as continue
caring for street kids, some additional funds would be required …

Hearns Kidsworld – ‘Fashion Centre’

In line with Kidsworld’s vision of growth through achievement, Hellen took the bold step of turning the
old training facility into a small ‘fashion’ shop, where the clothes that were being made whilst training,
could be displayed and in this way advertise the Centre and attract buyers.

The additional revenue would be used to subsidise the new larger training centre and at the same time
also boost the care for street kids.

life life life

Not only has this become a reality, but is also an example and challenge to other Kidsworld Centres,
to dream bigger and grow, founded on own effort and achievement.
